Kimolos: Cathedral<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”25px”][vc_column_text]The magnificent and imposing Cathedral of\u00a0 \u201cPanagia Odigitria\u201d (Blessed Virgin Mary), the patron saint of the island , celebrates on November 21st .<\/p>\n

The cathedral is built between 1867 and 1874 . All the inhabitants of the island,\u00a0 offered their personal work for 7 years willingly and without remuneration to achieve\u00a0 this great work .<\/p>\n

Among the many old and significant\u00a0 icons, one can see the icon\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 “Panagia Odigitria” of the 15th century , probably originated in Constantinople or Salonika .<\/p>\n
